fuckyouhaveagreatday-deactivate asked: Hello ,
My name is Christian and i live just North of you in Lake Forest, Orange County. Anyways, I am a young inspiring photographer and i was wondering if you could tell me the gear your using . My Gear is quite out of date and the gear your using seems quite amazing ! i was wondering if your using any filters or what type of lens your using. I'm sure my camera wont be able to use the gear your using for i have a quite oldish camera haha. but i love it still. Well thankyou for all the help. I understand if you dont want to share your secrets haha .
Hope your having a great New year so Far.
Thanks for the acclaim. I appreciate the compliments. I use a Canon 5D mrk II and I use a Canon 50 mm lens and also a 70-200 mm. I don’t use filters. I use photoshop a little bit but I try not to change any photo too much. I don’t like my photos to look retouched at all. I like them to look as natural as possible. I have a lot of other gear but it would take to long to list off everything.
The best advice I can give you is - save up and invest in some good gear. Having updated gear and lenses that will last you a lifetime will completely change your photos. Good lenses is where you should spend your money. Thanks again for the compliments.

Sunglasses and Car Rides
Josh, Emily, Jesse and I went to Long Beach to see good ole Delta Spirit play. I took some photos in the car for fun.
I’m enjoying summer, I think these kinda show that.
I love these guys.

Jesse and Emily
This is my brother, he is the best. I love him to death. This is also Emily, she is amazing. I like them together.
We were at a coffee shop and I loved the light behind them, so I took out my camera. This is what happened.

Janu and the Whalesharks
Last night Jake, Bumper, and Jared from Janu and the Whalesharks played their last show at the Gypsy Lounge. Jake has recently decided to move to Nashville, Jared is going to Las Vegas for an internship, and bumper is still in Carlsbad working on his coffee company, so they all decided to come back together for a going away show. Jake said “this isn’t our last show, just a temporary leave.” So we can all still hope to see them soon. They are incredible musicians so I know I am not alone when I say that I am going to really miss watching these guys live. The crowd was great last night, so many people came out to support them and be there for their final bang.
Here are a couple photos of the night.
Thanks for checking in! See you soon.

I want to ride on the shoulders of the giant artists that have paved this path
plucking from the treetops the inspiration from which I please
I want to flow in this river called technology gushing out into this world we call ours
dipping my head under the waves as I try and see what is coming
I want to surpass all of the people who say “I can’t”
waving as I pass by on this speed train, destination satisfaction
I want to yell out to the world and tell them that I am coming
but I can’t seem to get anything but an echo of my own voice
I want to create something that I can look back to and say
these are my roots
I want to grab ahold of you and leap out of this tree into the water
hitting every branch on the way down
I want to pretend that people will read this
and understand me
I want to pretend that all of the things that have happened to me
will be my most influential motivation
I want to think of the hardest thing I could do
and tackle it
I want to document everything
I want to leave a trail of where I have been
and never go back to it
I want to realize that I want a lot of things
and achieve more things

Self Portraits: Round Two
With all of the work I have been doing to get the a legitimate business up and rolling I have had no time to do anything creative for myself. Today after I arrived home from work I decided to do some photos. Without knowing what I wanted to shoot or where I went up to my room to gather up my equipment and realized that the overcast skies outside were creating the most beautiful soft light coming through my window. I then quickly found myself unloading all of my equipment that I had just packed up and started seeing what I could do. Without anyone home to be my guinea pig I was only left to myself. Self portraits were the end all choice.
Here are some of the ones I really like. Enjoy my friends!
